Liar and Spy
Liar and Spy by Rebecca Stead is about mystery and friendship. Georges is the main character. He is a sixth grader who had a lot of change this past month. He wants to solve the mystery of Mr. X with his friend Safer. However, they need to find sneaky ways to check out what going on with Mr. X. For example, they put a gum wrapper between the door to see if Mr. X. is home. They also went in the main office and spied on Mr. X. using the apartment complex security. They found our that Mr. X. was carrying down suitcases and dressing in black. At the end, Safer was joking about the whole thing and Mr. X. was a nice man who was out of town and Safer was walking his dogs. I enjoyed reading this book. Through the main character, I learned that you don't need to lie to make a friend.
